My pup has hyperkeratosis. Vet recommended bag balm and that was a greasy mess. I have been trying everything and it is all greasy and contains petroleum products. This was a cream, easy to apply, non greasy, but just didn't have enough moisture to clear up her HK. I use another product that I found a majority of the time that is working very well and use this on her rough elbows. This was purchased due to roughness & cracking of our GSDs' paws after long walks. He has no skin or other dryness issues; trying another more waxy product was simply too messy & ineffective. Tender Foot sounded good as primary vitamins are main ingredients. It's like hand cream, taking quite a while to soak into the pads so as not to leave residue on carpets/floors. I saw, however, only an apparent softening after applying the cream (& waiting) but the roughness remained. I tried using it throughout hot weather & recently for snow. Nothing. No improvement despite nightly use, morning use, different weather conditions, different walking/running surfaces. I'm moving on to herbal/organic solutions which may be more effective. Nice cream, but the roughness & cracks are still there. This stuff is absolutely fantastic! One of my aging pups has been dealing with some very, very bad spots on her elbows. They are bad enough that they frequently become quite swollen. She absolutely refuses to lay on soft surfaces (sound familiar to anyone?), and she also loves to lick them. Neither of those things have been very conducive to having them heal or get better.Enter NaturVet Tender Foot cream. I had hoped that, at the very least, this cream would help her itching and alleviate some of her discomfort, but it has done a lot more than that. They simply don't seem to bother her anymore, after a few weeks of applying daily. It helped almost immediately, she stopped trying to scratch them and lick them. Over the weeks, the swelling went down until they essentially just look like spots bare of fur. "Unsightly," maybe, but I cant be bothered to care about that when my dog so obviously feels better. The cream isn't greasy and rubs in very, very quickly (big plus in my book). It also smells nice, and my dogs don't seem to lick it at all. Interestingly, they do seem to love the smell, so I cant say other dogs might not lick. Compared to other offerings on the market, this is less expensive, you get more, and it works wonderfully. If you even think it might help your pup, try it out.The only issue now is that my other dog feels left out, so I have to rub it into the fur on his elbows...This is an awesome softener, and keeps our doggies foot pads nice and soft. Otherwise, they become very rough. It has a lovely, very soft scent, which "Mackie" seems to love too!I was about ready to give up after having tried so many creams to treat my dogs chronic cracked, rough paw pads. I wanted quick relief as well as to protect them from future damage, and I am both surprised AND delighted to say that this creme really does the trick. I was amazed at how quickly the healing began...within 24 hours after the first application, I noticed that my dog was no longer licking his paws obsessively, in an effort to sooth the discomfort. The aroma was very pleasant and there were no greasy "paw prints" on my carpet or linoleum. I also applied some to the elbow area, which has started to show signs of irritation and it is working equally well there.I can see the improved condition of the pads, but more importantly, I can see that my dog is more comfortable and isn't licking and biting at his feet now, and that is worth every cent. I believe the secret is to stay ahead if any future damage by using this creme consistently, even after the paws/elbows are completely healed. The price is right, it smells great, it works and I will never be without it again. I highly recommend this product.I dont normally write reviews, but I wanted to share my experience with this product for anyone that may have a dog with ouchy cracked paw pads. My recently rescued American bulldog has some skin issues (that are currently being addressed as well) that overtime caused the worst case of cracked pads Iv ever seen, and Iv seen allot of dog feet. I tried first some coconut oil treatments, but it just wasn't enough for this poor baby. I honestly purchased this product on a whim, figuring I would have to try something else after. Well let me tell you, I'm impressed and happy I got it! He had some big deep cracks that I was worried they were beyond repair. After 1 week of putting this cream on on nightly, they are almost healed. Its still gonna take some time, but at least I know it's working. I am sharing before and after pictures for thus far. The second one is after a week of use. It really doesn't do it justice though. If your dog has cracked paws, get this! Imagiane how painful it must be!Bought this for my Lab who has patches on his elbows, he also has swollen joints that he licks, making the skin soreI have used it on these patches and it soothe them so he leaves them alone, really good moisturised his dry patches great Stuff would highly recommendThis is nice. It smells good and as my springer covers quite a few miles a day it's a treat for him. Um, I used it on my feet after a pedi and it was great. Well if it's good enough for the dog....recieved on time this is go into my first aid kit for my dogs not used it yet but at least i have it in just in case tyDoes not work at all. Smells horrible. Waste of money.I applied this cream morning and night on my dogs elbows. After weeks of applying this citrus smelling cream, it did not work.Waste of money and time!Good got different change
